About Us
How Did Corazón Raíz Begin?
Corazón Raíz was founded in 2021 with the goal of expanding educational opportunities in Indigenous and rural communities. We believe education can create the foundation for lasting, community-led change.
Before founding Corazón Raíz, our co-founder and Executive Director, Fernanda de la Cerda, volunteered with organizations in Mexico and abroad. Those experiences revealed both the enormous challenges many communities continue to face and the extraordinary dedication of the people working to address them.
Inspired by those experiences, she founded Corazón Raíz with the belief that meaningful change begins with local leadership. By connecting committed people, communities, and partners across borders, we strive to expand educational opportunities where they are needed most.
